SATURDAY, OCTOBER 31, 2015 BOARD PREPARATION FOR INTENSIVE
1pm to 6pm will hold the board preparation workshop during our icon guild meeting at the Shrine of St. Anthony in the Conference Room. Please order your own icon board or practice board (whatever size you are comfortable with) from www.iconboards.com TODAY as the boards must be prepared in advance. We have no boards or practice boards left.
Preparation for your board: image transferred, bole applied, gold applied, first lines etched and painted. Please bring a cloth to wrap your board inside for transportation back home so it cannot be damaged before the 3 day intensive. (Mother Sophronia will make you a lovely, handmade bag to protect your icon. Please contact her: email@example.com)
During our icon guild meeting, we will have several images to choose to use for your icon along with bole and pigment. We will have gold available but must CHARGE for gold as it is expensive or bring your own if you have it. Bring your notebook, board, paintbrushes, pallettes, egg emulsion (or bring a glass bottle with a lid and we’ll help you prepare the emulsion) and be prepared to work as these boards MUST be prepared for the intensive.
Bring a bag lunch and mark your name on it as it can be stored in the refrigerator at the Shrine. Coffee, tea, lemonade and water available as well as assorted snacks.
Gentle reminder: the dining hall is closed from 5-6pm for the dinner hour for the Priests, please refrain from entering the dining hall during this time.
