Topic for August 31 is Exploration of Elements of Border Designs with handouts and work on existing icons
SEPTEMBER — Saturday, September 28 1:00–6:00
Our resident Rock Hound, Wayne Homens, is back with more pigments to crush out of rocks found in the tri-state area and beyond! Join us to learn what natural earth pigments can be used in iconography. Bring a notebook and wear clothing that you don’t mind getting a little Earth on 🙂 A sign up sheet will be present on our August 31st meeting.
OCTOBER — Saturday, October 26 (4:00 to 8:00 pm) OR Sunday, October 27 (3:30 — 7:30) featuring Pastor Julie Brigham with a lecture titled “Return from Byzantium — A Focus on St. Nicholas” Q + A after lecture
NOVEMBER — Saturday, November 30 we may be meeting in the Carroll Mansion making icon cards for Christmas! Time and Exact location TBA! We will also work on our icons in between families visiting and participating

Lydia Lynette Hull–Prosopon Iconographer, Curator of the traveling icon exhibit “Wrestling With Angels” (currently in the Museum of Russian Icons, MA)

PROSOPON SCHOOL OF ICONOLOGY ANNUAL 6 DAY ICON WORKSHOP WITH FOUNDER AND MASTER ICONOGRAPHER

CONFERENCE ROOM AND GLASS ROOM
This 6 day workshop features two rooms to accommodate twenty students in each room. The Conference Room will be reserved for intermediate and advanced students who will write the icon of The Theotokos, The Sign and the Glass Room is designated for beginning students who will write the icon of Archangel Michael if this is your first time with Prosopon or beginning students who are on their second + workshop will write Archangel Gabriel or Theotokos Tenderness OR Vladislav’s choices 🙂

JUNE — Saturday, June 20 AND Saturday, June 27 1:00 — 6:00 pm
We begin promptly at 1:00 pm with Opening Prayer then begin our practice. Please bring a bag lunch for yourself or a snack to share to keep our collective energy going! Please bring notebooks, folders and watercolor paper for keeping track of exercises and activities! We are in the process of discussing more lectures and hands on activities related to icons, icon studies and extensions of icon practices and field trips! Stay tuned as each new activity will be posted.
GUILD MEETINGS ARE NOT FEE BASED–EACH PARTICIPANT IS ASKED FOR A DONATION IN THE AMOUNT HE OR SHE CAN AFFORD. IF THERE IS AN ACTIVITY THAT REQUIRES A FEE, THERE WILL BE EITHER A REGISTRATION FORM OR A NOTICE SENT THROUGH E-MAIL AND POSTED ON THIS SITE.
Students new to iconography: we supply materials to make egg emulsion (please bring a glass jar with a lid and you can take home the emulsion you make!) icon materials are offered at market price (boards, gold, brushes etc.) We provide a list of suppliers of fine iconography materials as we know you will want to continue this beautiful practice! Beginning students will start on watercolor paper which we initially supply.
Intermediate and Advanced Students: please bring supplies you have on hand for continuation of your icon (s) in progress.
