Such a beautiful and special time of year–the celebration of the birth of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We were pleased to honor this season with our last icon practice of 2017–Saturday, December 30th, 2017. Though many were busy with holiday preparations, we made time to finishing an icon (or two, or three…) is a wonderful way to prepare our hearts for the New Year to come and to continue our sacred work.
The past 12 months have been filled with so many activities; meeting new friends, saying “see you soon” to friends who have moved away from the area, caring for aging parents, watching grand kids enter into kindergarten and new schools, exploring new books relating to iconography, icon workshops, classes and intensives–its been a whirlwind but our hearts are filled with wonderful memories and experiences–so we move into 2018 with joyful hearts and more amazing and exciting things to come!
Our next meeting is scheduled for Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 12 noon until we decide to stop for the night. We will be hosting a going away party for our dear and faithful friend, Kristin Catena. She and her husband Gene will be moving out of the country and it will be very hard to say “see you soon!?” Details will be provided in an email for those on our mailing list.
